Cookie Notice
Last updated: September 22, 2026
Useful Routine is operated by Semiuseful Corporation. This notice explains how we use cookies and similar browser storage.
Your choices
Essential cookies and storage are used when needed to provide the service or a feature you request. They cannot be disabled through our cookie settings.
Optional analytics and advertising are off until you choose to enable them. Select Accept All, Reject All, or select Customize, set each choice, and select Save. Required cookies are always on and cannot be switched off in these settings. You can use Useful Routine with both optional choices off. Select Cookie Settings at any time to change your choices. Turning an enabled choice off reloads the page to stop previously loaded tracking. Choices are remembered for six months. We ask again when those choices expire or their purposes change.
We honor Global Privacy Control by keeping advertising tracking off, even if an earlier advertising choice was on.
Essential cookies and storage
- Authentication and security: Auth.js uses session, callback, and security
cookies to sign you in, keep your session secure, and return you to the right
page. Cookie names can include
authjs.session-token,authjs.csrf-token, andauthjs.callback-url, with secure name prefixes in production. Session cookies expire at the end of a browser session or within the authentication session period, which is normally no more than 30 days. - Cookie choice:
routine_cookie_consentrecords your choices for optional cookie categories, the version of those choices, and when they were made. It expires after six months. - Requested feature state: Local storage may temporarily keep onboarding progress so you can complete account setup. Session storage remembers whether the timezone check was completed during the current browser session. This information stays in your browser and supports features you requested.
These technologies do not depend on analytics consent because the service or requested feature would not work as intended without them.
Optional analytics
When you accept analytics, some or all of the following services may be enabled, depending on the site's configuration:
- PostHog: Measures product and website usage, including page views, navigation, clicks, and other interactions. Its browser SDK may use first-party cookies and local storage to maintain visitor and session identifiers. Depending on the site's PostHog configuration, additional features may collect session replay, survey, performance, or error information. PostHog is not initialized and does not capture analytics before you accept.
- Google Analytics: Measures page views and engagement. It may set
_gaand_ga_<measurement-id>first-party cookies to distinguish visitors and preserve session state. We do not load the Google tag before you accept analytics. - Vercel Web Analytics: Measures page views. Vercel Analytics is not loaded before you accept analytics.
Google Analytics, PostHog, and Vercel Analytics also measure completed signups and routine creation. We do not include routine names or contents in these custom events. Google advertising storage, advertising user data, and advertising personalization remain disabled in this integration.
These analytics services may receive the URL and referrer of the page you visit, browser and device information, general location derived from an IP address, and information about how you interact with the service. We do not filter or redact URLs before analytics events are sent. Analytics providers may assign browser or session identifiers. We may associate signed-in usage with a stable user identifier, and PostHog may also receive the user's email address.
If you later reject analytics, we disable Google Analytics, instruct PostHog to stop capturing, remove recognized analytics cookies and PostHog local storage available to this site, and reload the page. This stops further tracking; it does not retract information already sent.
Optional advertising
When configured and you enable advertising, the Reddit Pixel measures visits to our marketing pages, completed account creation, and routine creation. It shares event, browser, device, and advertising identifier information with Reddit to attribute signups and measure and improve our ads. Reddit may associate this information with your Reddit account or advertising activity under its Privacy Policy.
The pixel may set first-party cookies such as _rdt_uuid and _rdt_cid, generally
for up to 90 days. These identify a browser and an advertising click. We do not
explicitly send email addresses, routine names, or routine contents to Reddit.
Advertising pageviews use marketing page paths. Conversion events use /app
in place of the current page path. Login, account, invitation, legal, and
documentation pages do not send advertising pageview events. Advertising tracking does not load unless you
enable advertising and your browser is not sending Global Privacy Control.
After a consented signup, routine_signup_conversion temporarily carries a random
event identifier, signup method, time, and permitted measurement destinations
across the sign-in redirect. It contains no name, email address, or account ID. We
remove it when consumed, and it expires after ten minutes. A signup that occurred
without consent is not replayed if you enable tracking later.
Turning advertising off removes recognized Reddit cookies available to this site and reloads the page to unload the pixel. Rejecting analytics alone does not turn advertising off, and rejecting advertising alone does not turn analytics off.
